A CYCLIST was punched in the face after a row in the road.

The 50-year-old Brighton man had a verbal altercation with a passenger of a grey Ford Focus as they were both travelling west along King’s Road from the roundabout by the city’s Palace Pier on Friday at 8.20pm.

The cyclist was punched in the face which caused to fractures in his eye socket.

A 31-year-old Shoreham man was later traced and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. After being interviewed he was released on police bail until April 4 while enquiries continue Detective sergeant Chris Lane urged any witnesses to call police on 101 quoting 1338 of 05/02.
