A CHIMNEY fire ripped through the living room of a house in a village.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended the scene at the property in Upper Close, Forest Row.
A fire had broken out in the ground floor living room after the blaze started in the chimney.
Two firefighters using breathing gear delved into the house and brought the fire under control.
Fire crews then used a fire engine with a ladder to check the chimney breast and ensure it was safe.
Crews left the scene at 7pm after they were called at 5.35pm on Saturday night.
