Six fire engines were called to the scene of a house fire in a village.
The blaze took hold in a property in Spark's Lane, Cuckfield, earlier this afternoon.
The fire service say the blaze started on the ground floor before spreading to the roof.
Crews from Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Turners Hill, Horsham and two from Crawley were called to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control.
As of 5.30pm the fire is now out but some crews remain on the scene.
There are no reports of injuries or anyone being rescued from the blaze.
