The New Immortals

Phoenix Gallery, Waterloo Place, Brighton, Sat, Feb 20, to Sun, March 20, Wed to Sun 11am to 5pm, free, www.phoenixbrighton.org

AS Brighton Science Festival continues into its third week, Judith Alder has curated an exhibition at the newly remodelled Phoenix Gallery to open the venue’s 2016 programme.

The New Immortals features new work by artists exploring the world of science in a variety of different mediums – from Murray Ballard’s photographic exploration of cryonics to Gabriella Sancisi’s video portrait of a newborn child.

Running through much of the work is the uncertainties of science and the pseudo-science which bombards us in our daily lives. At the heart of the show is the question – do you really want to live forever?

Look out for a series of drop-in sessions and workshops throughout the exhibition run.
