Wildflowers
Marwoods Cafe, Ship Street, Brighton, Thurs, March 3, 8pm, £3 on the door, www.themarwood.com
FORMER On The Radar stars Wildflowers are dropping into Brighton as part of a tour in support of Care4Calais.
The band, which hails from Bristol and Brighton, is playing four UK shows before travelling to The Jungle in Calais for a one-off performance.
The band was inspired by a friend of lead singer Siddy Bennett, who has been blogging about her experiences volunteering in Calais over the last five months.
“Her posts, filled with passion, anger, helplessness, kept niggling away at me,” says Bennett.
“When it was raining solidly in early January, and I was warm and cosy, I couldn't stop thinking about everyone in The Jungle.”
*Wildflowers also play The Albion, in Hastings, on Friday, March 4.
