FORMER Loose Woman Carol McGiffin has criticised programme bosses for allowing Katie Price to appear on the show.

Carol was a panellist for ten years and in a recent interview hit out at the former Patcham High School pupil Katie starring on it once a week.

Talking to Woman magazine, the 56-year-old also claimed the women on the panel must have 'no self-respect'.

She told the publication: "I don’t know what she’s doing there. But she’s got a lot of Twitter followers, and they’re desperate for viewers. I can’t believe those women [panellists] are sitting with her.

Katie has been creating headlines on the show, even inviting her children Junior, 10, and eight-year-old Princess to make an appearance.

Junior told his mum: "I get how you want to have plastic surgery, but you don't need to have loads like round this area [pointing to his chest]."

Among the other controversial topics up for discussion on the one-off special, Loose Women and Kids, are the age children should be allowed to wear make-up and their thoughts on marriage.

Meanwhile, Carol revealed her reasons to quit the daytime programme, while appearing on the show three years ago.

She said: "I am sure that some of you will rejoice at this news but, I think, those who might not be so pleased deserve some sort of explanation.

"Well, I’d been thinking about it for at least a year.

"It seems totally mad to quit one of the best jobs in the world – and it is one of the best jobs in the world – where you chat for an hour on television with like-minded women and get paid reasonably well for it.

"But I felt as if I’d completely plundered my private life and exhausted my repertoire of anecdotes to the point of actually boring myself."
