A YOUNG man who was killed by a 20 ton lorry has been described as a "cheeky chap" who always had a smile on his face.

Georgi Yaschuk had been out with friends on Saturday night when he was crushed by the Tesco lorry following a fight in Western Road.

Police are investigating whether the 23-year-old, of Cambridge Road, Hove, was pushed into the path of the lorry and have launched a murder investigation.

Friends, who knew him as George, said he was"aways having a smile and a giggle at every party".

They held a candlelit vigil at Brighton Clocktower in North Street, lighting candles in his memory yesterday afternoon.

Nathan Gulliver, who described himself as George's best friend ,said: "I'm speechless. I just want to wake up and find all this isn't real.

"You were my best pal, I'm with you everyday, all the funny mischief we get up to."

Another friend said: "I'm in pieces! RIP. Love you mate. Lived with you for a year or so and had the most laughs with you always!"

Jazmine Richards described him as "such a lovely lad always smiling".

Rachael Wells said: "Massively shocked and saddened. I don't know about an angel, but heaven has definitely gained a comedian! Rest in peace George x."

Jayne Hardcastle said: "Such sad news. I cannot believe that George Yaschuk has gone. I always had a soft spot for him - he used to call me Mum! Such a sweet guy - I know he was far from perfect, but his heart was in the right place. RIP George."

Kevin Gould said: "RIP LAD taken far to soon."

Kelly Bray said: "Horrible to hear frown emoticon RIP George X".

Paige Butterfield said: "Awesome person taken way to soon."

Two men aged 24 and 27 from Hove have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have now been released on bail until June 2.
