ONE of the world’s most exceptional guitarists with one of the most accomplished careers in music.
With 15 million record sales, three Grammy awards, and 15 Grammy nominations, even if you do not know his name you will know his music.
Vai is known for his masterful guitar work, being crowned the number 10 on a list of the all time greats by Guitar World Magazine.
He started his career aged just 18 with Frank Zappa and has recorded with bands such as Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Spinal Tap and Bilge.
He designed the first commercially produced seven string guitar and owns the label Favoured Nations, which has released more than 70 albums.
Vai has created music for blockbuster films, bestselling video games, national sports franchises, and corporate brand initiatives and earned an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music and Musicians Institute.
Describing him as prolific does him a disservice.
His latest tour comes as part of the 25th anniversary of his most commercially successful release his second album Passion and Warfare, playing the whole album in full each night.
The album will also be remastered and include an album worth of material written from the time between the recording of Passion and Warfare and his first solo album Flex-Able.
Vai recorded Passion and Warfare at his home while he was working on Whitesnake’s 1989 album a Slip of the Tongue.
