DETECTIVES hunting a man in connection with the rape of a 21-year-old woman have released an efit of their suspect.

The attack took place in an alleyway off Westcourt Road, Worthing, on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 19.

However the circumstances are still not clear, police said.

Detective Inspector David Payne of Sussex Police said: "That area of Worthing would have been busy, especially at that time, and we still ask anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

"We are still investigating but at this stage there is nothing to justify any local concern that there may be further such reports, and we do not advise anyone to take anything other than the usual common sense safety precautions."

The suspect is black, between 6' and 6'2" with a goatee beard. He had a shaved line in one of his eyebrows and was wearing a white jumper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police by email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Clandon.
