ALBION’S flag is flying at the city’s newest tourist attraction as the club prepares to push for the Premier League.

Brighton and Hove Albion FC executive director Martin Perry joined Laurence Braden from the British Airway i360 team to raise the flag ahead of its crunch game against Derby on Monday.

The club is hoping Sussex can become a sea of blue and white to spur on Albion, with residents encouraged to fly Albion flags while businesses are being asked to let their staff wear the club’s colours and deck out their offices and premises.

Mr Perry said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support we've received from so many businesses within the city of Brighton and Hove, including the team at British Airways i360.

“As the famous Brighton seafront landscape evolves with the opening of this stunning new attraction this year, we are also hoping the city's footballing landscape changes too, with our aim to be in the Premier League next season.”

British Airways i360 chief executive Eleanor Harris said: "It's such an exciting time for whole city with the Albion on the verge of reaching new heights with promotion to the Premiership.

"We're proud to show our support by flying Albion flags above our West Pier tollbooths and helping to turn the city into a sea of blue and white."

After the Derby game, Albion’s nailbiting last game of the season will be against fellow promotion hopefuls Middlesborough on May 7.
