AN IT worker’s marathon efforts have raised more than £2,000 for sick children.
Support analyst Simon Chivrall, from Chichester, finished Sunday’s London Marathon in four hours 18 minutes in a climax to months of fundraising for Children with Cancer UK.
The 26.2 mile run followed cake sales, car boot sales and a barbecue for colleagues and customers at the Chichester depot of timber and builders merchants Covers where Simon works.
He donated £2,083 to Children with Cancer UK, which works to help young cancer patients through research, welfare and campaigning programmes.
Simon said: “I was a bit nervous on the morning of the race but once I started running and got into my stride I was a lot more relaxed.
“The race was a huge challenge for me but all my hard work and training paid off and I was extremely happy with my time.”
