POLICE have reopened inquiries into allegations of historic sexual abuse at a prep school.

Sussex Police are investigating a number of allegations of assaults on boys by staff at Chelmsford Hall, in Eastbourne, a spokesman said.

He added: “The investigation is at an early stage and no arrests have been made at present.”

It is understood a number of alleged victims came forward after writer and mother Diane Esguerra told of her son Sacha’s spiral into heroin addiction – which ended in a fatal overdose at the age of 30 – after claiming he was sexually abused at the school which closed in 1992.
