A MAN has been arrested after a police car chase.
Officers chased the Volkswagen Jetta yesterday afternoon as it was suspected to contain people connected to an assault.
The police helicopter helped them follow the car along the A27 westbound, at Clapham, but police lost sight of it on the southbound Lyminster Road near Littlehampton.
It was later found abandoned in nearby Mill Lane, in Wick, and up to three occupants were seen to decamp.
A 24-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and failing to stop when told to do so by a police officer.
He has been bailed until June 8 pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information relating to the outstanding suspects to come forward.
Witnesses should contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 672 of 23/05.
