A GROUP of young street dancers have shown they are among the best in Europe after a championship win.

Stereoshok have just returned from Germany, where Brighton-based dance school Streetfunk had four crews competing at the European Street Dance Championships.

More than 194 crews and 2,122 dancers from across Europe competed, making it the biggest European dance championship to date.

The Streetfunk crews represented the South of England after winning the Southern regionals.

Stereoshok won after dancing over three days, competing against the defending champions. Stereoshok also had individual and duo successes.

Coach JP Omari, from Streetfunk's Marina Studios in Brighton said: "It's amazing. It's a life-time achievement. I'm very proud of the kids as they've worked very hard for this.

"They've really turned it around. It's just such a win that they deserve and worked for and I'm very proud of them."
