Albion Women are heading for the second tier of English football.
They came from behind to beat Sporting Club Albion 4-2 in their promotion play-off at Adams Park today.
Victory, secured by goals from Kate Natkiel (2), Sophie Perry and Amy Taylor, sends them into WSL2 for the 2017 season, subject to meeting required off-field standards.
They were roared on by raucous travelling support in a crowd of 648.
It is a notable triumph for the Seagulls, who have lost their manager and three key players in recent weeks.
They trailed to a Lee Dugmore header after 15 minutes of today’s clash with the northern division champions at Wycombe.
But Natkiel levelled with a brilliant 25-yard strike late in the first half.
The same player put Albion ahead with a cool finish midway through the second half.
Sophie Perry added a superb curling free-kick on 73 minutes and then crossed for Taylor to head the fourth three minutes later.
Karen Clough pulled one back for Sporting in the 88th minute and they had a goal ruled out for offside during a somewhat nervous period of five added minutes.
But it was the Seagulls who celebrated at the end.
