SURROUNDED by his children on a family holiday to Disneyland, Donny Sinclair was in his element.

Laughing and joking with Cameron, 12, Katrina, nine, Tabitha, six and Brayden, four, Donny was doing what friends said he did best - "being a daddy".

But on on what should have been an extra special occasion on Father's Day, Donny collapsed and died in front of his oldest son after suffering a heart attack.

His wife Vicky said this photo was the only picture that could make her smile after his sudden death.

Football coach and swimming teacher Donny, 47, of Peacehaven, was at a father-son football match with Cameron, 12, on Sunday.

During the game at the Denton and South Heighton Junior Football Club where he coached, Donny asked Cameron, known as Cal, to fetch him a drink. When he turned back he was lying on the floor.

Families watched in horror as first aiders and paramedics tried to save his life.

Parents tried to shield the children from the view of Donny fighting for his life - but Cameron would not leave his father's side.

When Vicky arrived with daughters Katrina, nine, and Tabitha, six, a few minutes later to see him lying on the ground she said she instantly knew he was gone.

Family friend Paula Woolven said: "They were having a father-son kick-about.

"The last thing he said to Cam was 'get me a Lucozade'. He turned around and his dad had fallen on the floor.

"Cam is just the bravest little man.

"Football was the thing they did together.

"Twenty minutes before he died Donny had presented Cam with a trophy for being the most improved player.

"In five years of coaching him he had never given him a trophy because you go harder on your own kids. Donny couldn't have been prouder of him.

"Donny had two grown up daughters but when he had a little boy he was just so excited they could play football together."

Paula said Vicky had been "stronger than she knows" in helping her children come to terms with the loss of their beloved father.

"With four little children you just have to put the breakfast on the table, but the level of support has been amazing," said Paula.

"The two little ones keep asking where dad is and she keeps saying 'he's not coming home.' Katrina understands and she's just very quiet."

Donny's pupils and the family's friends have been rallying around to support the family.

A fund has been set up to help Vicky with funeral costs and other expenses.

Hundreds of friends have paid tribute to him online.

Flowers and tributes have been piling up at the Denton and South Heighton Junior Football Club where he coached.
