Chris Eubank Junior successfully defended his British Middleweight title tonight with an impressive fourth round stoppage of Tom Doran.

The Brighton fighter had Doran down three times in the fourth round before it was stopped after two minutes 35 seconds.

Welshman Doran came in with a perfect 17-0 record, including an impressive climb-off-the-canvas win over Luke Keeler in Liverpool last time out.

Eubank Jr's last fight was the brutal stoppage of Nick Blackwell to claim the belt in March.

Blackwell collapsed shortly after the fight while in the ring and was placed in an induced coma.

The Trowbridge fighter has since recovered from his injuries but has been forced to retire from boxing.

Former interim WBA World middleweight champion Eubank, with a 22-1 record before tonight's fight, entered with a trademark leap over the ropes.

But Doran, 28, in the biggest fight of his stop-start career, looked confident in the opening round, firing off the first shot and looking far from overawed.

The second saw a Eubank Jr fire off a trademark uppercut which backed Doran up.

Eubank Jr went to work in the third. He unloaded on Doran, attacking From body to head.

Doran's bravery kept him up but in the fourth a series of devastating body shots and uppercuts forced him to the canvas.

He clambered up but was sent over twice more and referee Marcus McDonnell had seen enough.
