VETERANS joined servicemen and woman to march through the streets in celebration of Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
The parade was held on Saturday in New Road, Brighton, and was followed by entertainment and exhibitions.
Jointly organised by Brighton and Hove City Council and the Royal British Legion, the march was attended by James May, deputy lord lieutenant of East Sussex, and Brighton and Hove mayor Pete West.
The Royal Sussex Regiment Association, Blind Veterans UK and the Chattri Memorial Group all put on exhibitions and there were special poetry readings during the day.
The Royal British Legion is calling for the next Census in 2021 to include more information about those in the armed forces, particularly reservists and veterans, so resources can be better allocated.
Other events were held across the county including in Chichester and Crawley.
