BRIGHTON and Hove Buses is putting 24 new buses into service - meaning that half its fleet now has a wireless internet connection.

The move, which comes as part of a £6 million investment in the city’s buses, brings the total number of buses with WiFi to 130.

Brighton & Hove Buses Managing Director Martin Harris said: "We are continuing to invest in our customers' experience and expect that within 12 months all of our buses will have WiFi.

"We are committed to raising the standards in our buses for all of our customers and will be investing a further £9million in the city's bus services over the next 12 months. In recent weeks our latest batch of new buses have started to go into service on route 1."

In addition to free WiFi, the new service 1 buses have USB charging points on every seat, added Mr Harris.

The bus routes now served with WiFi are: 1, 5, 6, 7, 12, 25, 28/29 and 77.
