An elderly cyclist has died after falling from his bike.

Police are now seeking witnesses to the incident, in Harbour Road, Rye, at its junction with Tram Road on Thursday.

The cyclist, an 84-year-old Hastings man, collided with a kerb and fell.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards-on-Sea and died four days later.

The incident occurred at around 10:45am. The coroner for East Sussex has been informed.
