A 10-YEAR-OLD boy was injured when he was hit by a car that failed to stop at the scene.

He was walking his bicycle across the road when he was knocked to the ground sustaining cuts and bruises, police said.

It happened at 2.30pm on Friday July 22 in Clun Road, Littlehampton, as the boy, wearing a blue t-shirt, walked from Egan Way towards Wickbourne Stores.

Sussex Police said the car, believed to be a grey Nissan Qashqai or similar, failed to stop.

It continued south-east along Clun Road towards Wick Farm Road, a spokesman added.
