BRUSH off your Bhutanese darts and dig out your sumo suit - it's time for the Crazy Rockinghorse Sportathon.

The all-new sporting and team-building fundraising event in aid of Rockinghorse children’s charity is looking for 40 corporate teams from the Sussex business community to take part.

The all-day challenge will see teams of six colleagues competing against fellow businesses by undertaking 20 different sporting activities including pole walking, Bhutanese darts, wellington boot throwing and a sumo suit relay race.

Teams are targeted to each raised £1,000 for Brighton-based children’s charity Rockinghorse.

Taking place at the Sussex County Ground in Hove on Friday 23 September from 9am-6pm, team entry is £250 which includes all challenge activities, BBQ lunch, refreshments, live entertainment from compere Tom Foolery, medals and trophies for winning teams, a glass of wine or beer after the event, plus team insurance and networking.

Spectators are also welcome to attend with entry via a donation into the charity buckets on the day (£5 per person).

Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, and a supporter of the neighbouring Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath.

They raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs. Find out more online at rockinghorse.org.uk.
