A TEENAGE girl was robbed of her phone and cash in the street.

The victim, 15, was walking along Chiltern Drive in Hastings at about 7.30pm last Sunday (July 24) when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her rusksack.

He opened it and took out £25 cash and a smartphone before pushing her to the ground and running off.

The suspect is described as white, between 30 and 35 years of age, of medium build with short black hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark trousers.

PC Andrew Hubbard said: "Understandably the victim has been left shaken by the incident.

"A member of the public found the phone in an alleyway between the railway station and Braybrooke Road the following day and handed it in to police."
