ONE of the biggest food festivals is back this Bank Holiday weekend.

There will be numerous events across the city with the Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Festival which starts on Saturday.

On Hove Lawns will be the Sussex and The World Weekend which will feature flavours and foods from around the globe.

Open from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday and 10am to 6pm on Monday, growers and restaurateurs from across Sussex and will be joined by high-quality street food stalls and producers from across the UK.

Drinks will also be in full flow as a number of drink companies host festival bars. Hotel du Vin’s head sommelier Robin will be running a free taster wine masterclass.

Punters will also be able to quench their thirst with local beer, ciders, wines and spirits.

The festival also incorporates a live food show, where top chefs from Brighton will make their favourite dishes using in season game meats like rabbit, venison and even wood pigeon.

The live show will take place from noon to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Children will also get the chance to get involved at the Children’s Food Festival with games, crafts, entertainment and face-painting all in aid of the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

The children’s event will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday and Monday.

And if all that was not enough, a BBQ cook off will also take place with chefs going head to head in a special challenge with meat and marinades.

Special guest Brighton and Hove mayor Pete West will be taking on a special BBQ challenge on Monday.

The cook off will be showing from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
