A MAN was arrested early this morning after being plucked from a rooftop by firefighters.
Police went to Buckingham Road in Worthing at 10.50pm last night after reports that a man said he had been threatened.
Officers arrived and, half an hour later, found him on the roof of a three-storey block of flats called Alpha Court.
They called the fire service, which initially sent a standard crew with extension ladders to retrieve the man.
But they realised it was too tall an order, and requested an aerial ladder platform (a crane-style fire engine) to get him down.
He was on the ground at 12.30am and immediately arrested by police.
Officers would not say why he was arrested. The drama was finally wrapped up by 1.45am today.
