A MAN was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after getting trapped between a pier stanchion and a boat.
The RNLI were called to the scene by Brighton Palace Pier at 10.30am this morning after a crew member got stuck between his boat and one of the posts which support the pier, a spokeswoman for Brighton RNLI said.
The boat had sailed back to Brighton Marina by the time the lifeboat arrived. He was met by two ambulances and was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.
It is not yet clear how the accident occurred.
