A WEB agency which has worked with some the city’s most popular food businesses is looking towards expansion on the international stage.

Full service digital agency Neptik has designed websites for the likes of Silo, The Flour Pot Bakery and Wolfies of Hove fish and chip shop and is in the process of delivering a new website for Infinity Foods.

Now its founder and co director is building on his gastronomic roots working for Michel Roux Jr at The Gavroche to expand the agency’s roster of clients.

Specialising in lifestyle and B2B as well as hospitality, Neptik is based in a growing creative cluster in Brighton’s North Laine.

It has recently made a series of appointments, including creative director Luke Greenway, previously of StoryStream and Bite Studio.

And with space for 12 in the Gloucester Place office, strategy director Ben hopes to have a full house within the next 18 months.

With a background in marketing as well as gastronomy, Ben worked at American Express for five years, before being one of two co founders that setup up a distribution and data product company which exceeded a turnover of £12 million per annum by its 8th year of trading.

He exited the company in 2013 and founded Neptik in April 2014.

Drawing on discipline learned in the two-Michelin Star restaurant The Gavroche, Ben is also able to get advice from confidant Michel Roux Jr.

He also counts Jamie Oliver’s right hand woman Jo Ralling as a nonexecutive chairman, and benefits from her advice, guidance and food for thought.

Having also worked with Brighton companies G2 Legal, Kiteworld and Vervate, Neptik is now looking outside Brighton for clients, and is currently talking to Michelin starred chefs the Galvin Brothers’ about their restaurant in Dubai.

Ben said: “We want to work with great brands and evolve and raise the profile of digital business in Brighton and the UK

“We have the highest density of digital agencies in the country. What we want to show is that we also have the highest quality of digital agencies in the country.

“Our aim is to encapsulate everything that’s great about your business within your website so that people experiencing working with you the moment they enter the page.

“We want people to start on a consumer journey from the movement they engage online.”
