THE CRUMBLING Seven Dials roundabout requires a further three weeks of repair roadworks.
The roundabout in Brighton will be subject to around three weeks of roadworks starting this Thursday to correct defects which led to parts of it crumbling.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays during the works scheduled to run until Friday October 7 with lane closures, temporary traffic lights and diversions in place.
Repairs will be carried out to the low kerbstones which have broken or come adrift.
The kerbstones will be made flush with the tarmac to avoid any impact from vehicles and the roundabout will also be resurfaced.
Cllr Gill Mitchell, chairwoman of the environment and transport committee, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
"The stone used in the kerbstone on the corner of the roundabout has worn quicker than anticipated.
"To prevent this in the future the kerb height will be lowered in line with the road surface.”
