A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been rescued from a fire in a flat.
Firefighters were called to Seafield Road, Hove, at 1.49pm today (Thursday) after smoke was seen coming out of a window.
They rescued the man from a bedsit in the first floor of a four-storey building, an East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said.
He has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Emergency services are still at the scene and the road is closed.
A Sussex Police spokesman added: "The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
"It is believed one person has been treated for smoke inhalation."
