Huge delays in Newhaven after cyclist seriously injured in fall
A CYCLIST has been seriously injured after falling from his bike in slippery conditions.
He suffered a suspected broken hip in the fall shortly after 6am on the A259 Brighton Road close to Newhaven Job Centre.
The accident triggered huge, ongoing delays on the A259 around Newhaven, with the town's one-way system blocked due to the incident.
The cyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
