A man who was walking in a main road is in hospital after being hit by a car.
On Sunday evening a 30-year-old man walking in the road in Horsham was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County hospital in Brighton after being hit by a Mini.
The collision, on the A281 Brighton Road at Manning Heath, happened at 8.36pm and the pedestrian sustained serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
The car involved was a red Mini One, driven by a 21-year-old woman from Horsham, who was treated by paramedics at the scene for the effects of shock.
The driver of a silver Citroen Berlingo van traveling south and other members of the public had stopped to try to lead the man to safety, but he broke free and the collision with the Mini then occurred.
