An armed teenager robbed a young man of his mobile phone before running off.

The 21-year-old man had finished work and was walking home at around 1.15am when he was approached from behind by someone in an alleyway by the train station car park in Horsham on Friday.

He was tripped up and fell to the floor before the teen produced something shiny from his pocket, possibly a knife or screwdriver. The victim was told to hand over his phone, which he did.

The suspect then ran off. He has been described as white, around 5'10” and of slim build. He looked around 15-years-old and was wearing a black hoody and black tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Constable James Gwynne said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the victim who has understandably been left shaken.

"We would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw something suspicious.”
