HUNDREDS of children enjoyed an assault course led by gold medal-winning hockey player Crista Cullen.
Kids from across the region took part in the Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder in Horsham, joined by hockey hero Crista who brought along her Olympic gold medal to inspire the next generation.
The star cheered participants along the one-mile obstacle course at the weekend.
Crista was also there in her role as an ambassador for Right to Play, a UK charity that uses sport and play to educate over one million children in some of the world's poorest communities.
The 31-year-old said: “I’m passionate about inspiring the next generation of Olympians, so it was wonderful to see the kids really embrace the spirit of the day and get muddy.”
Crista was part of Great Britain's women team who won a first Olympic hockey gold medal by beating defending champions the Netherlands in a dramatic penalty shoot out. Describing the experience Crista said: "To come away with a gold medal especially retiring with a gold medal was the icing on the cake and a brilliant finish to a long career."
