A SNOWDOG was damaged when a van drove into the sculpture.
The delivery van collided with the installation sponsor’s own sculpture but the Martlets announced that Process Pup had only received a small scratch.
The van’s owner - who was not driving the vehicle - has apologised and made an offer via The Argus.
On Wednesday morning a driver working for Brighton and Hove installation business Kensington failed to find a parking space near the pier and drove up to - and into - the statue on the lower promenade near Oh So Social.
Twitter user Karen Charles posted a picture of the van with its front bumper touching the Process Pup artwork and wrote “People need to take a LOT more care!”
The Martlets replied to say that the statue was “okay except a little scratch” but the company’s facebook page was inundated with angry posts.
Ellis Mendelson, who owns Kensington, told The Argus: “I don’t think he crashed I think he parked too close to it, but I’ve seen it and reprimanded the driver."
