Chris Hughton praised Albion’s best display of the season as they won at Hillsborough.
Sam Baldock and Anthony Knockaert secured a 2-1 success over Sheffield Wednesday, for whom Gary Hooper replied with the last kick.
It was the first goal Albion had conceded in five matches but Hughton said it did nothing to blunt his satisfaction.
The Albion boss said: “I thought we were good at Derby but I thought we were excellent today.
“That last-minute goal hasn’t taken anything away from the performance.
“It would have been nice to have continued with a clean sheet but we were really worthy of the victory.
“We restricted them to minimal chances over the 90 minutes.
“This is an incredibly tough place to come, as we have found, and I thought we were excellent.”
