DETECTIVES have released a picture of a murder victim's van in a bid to find it.

David Bond, 50, was found dead in the doorway of his home in Osmonde Close, Worthing, on August 9. A knife was found nearby.

His red Ford Focus-derived van, registration HT02 HMA, was taken from outside his house.

Alan Knight, 51, who was Mr Bond's lodger, was charged with his murder shortly afterwards. He told police he took the van and abandoned it in the Mitcham area of Surrey.

Knight, a bricklayer, appeared at Lewes Crown Court on August 17 and was remanded in custody to appear for a pre-trial preparation hearing on November 4.

The van was captured on traffic cameras in the time leading up to when it is claimed to have been abandoned, but despite searches and appeals, it has still not been found.

Police have appeal through Facebook and detectives want to hear from anyone in the wider area who may have seen it.

Anyone who has seen the van or knows of its whereabouts should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Bridge.
