ACTRESS Elizabeth Carling joined superstore staff to help launch a campaign to help people with breast cancer.

Asda’s annual Tickled Pink campaign raises money for the charities Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now.

Carling, who recently appeared in a one-off special of Goodnight Sweetheart, visited the Asda store in Hollingbury, Brighton to help kick things off.

This year, the national campaign, now in its 20th year, will exceed the £50 million fundraising mark and the Brighton store will be helping through a range of activities including tombolas and lucky dips.

Carling said: “It's really important to get behind the events in store because everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer and without the vital funds raised, people with the disease won’t be able to get the support they so desperately need when faced with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Hollingbury store community champion Maria Carpenter said: “We are delighted to support two fantastic charities that make a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

“It was fantastic to welcome Elizabeth to help launch our local campaign today.

“We want all our customers to show their pride and help us raise even more vital funds by making their own pink statement under the banner Proud to be Pink - enabling both charities to continue to be there for anyone facing breast cancer, from day one.”
