A SERVICE station manager was robbed of thousands of pounds of takings as he made his way to the bank.

The 41-year-old man, was in Southfield Road, Worthing, at around 10.30am yesterday when he was accosted by two men.

He was pushed to the ground and a bag containing several thousands of pounds in cash was snatched from him. No weapons were seen and the man was not hurt.

The robbers were both slim, aged around 30, and dressed in grey tracksuit bottoms and grey hooded tops, one of which was a darker grey. One man was around 5ft 7in tall and the other was 5ft 4in tall.

Police officers have made house-to-house enquiries in the area and detectives would also like to hear from anyone who saw the incident or noticed people acting suspiciously in the area before or after the robbery.
