A MERCEDES driver and his passenger were left with serious injuries after a crash with a mini-bus left the A27 closed for several hours.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash on the westbound carriageway between the Southerham and Ashcombe roundabouts, Lewes, at around 1pm on Saturday (October 22).
The Mercedes-Benz C63 saloon driven by a 50-year-old man and his 48-year-old woman, both from Seaford, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment.
A white Iveco mini-bus, driven by a 51-year-old man from Dagenham, Essex, was treated for slight injuries.
A 49-year-old man from Hailsham, riding a black Ducati motorcycle, sustained damage to his machine from debris on the road.
The crash led to the A27 being closed between the two roundabouts until 5.45pm while the scene was cleared and the circumstances investigated.
