THE lodger of a man who was stabbed to death in the doorway of a house has pleaded guilty to his murder.
Alan Knight was arrested in Lancashire three days after David Bond, 50, was found with stab wounds in Osmonde Close, Worthing.
Police had to force their way into the property after the occupant had not been heard from for days.
They found Mr Bond had been stabbed more than 20 times.
Knight, admitted murder when he appeared at Hove Crown Court and will be sentenced on December 20.
Detective Inspector Mark Cullimore, of Sussex Police, said in a statement: "This is a tragic case where a man has lost his life over an argument over cleanliness of the house.
"I am pleased Alan Knight has pleaded guilty and preventing David's family having to endure the trial.
"I hope David's family can now begin to move on with their lives."
