A MAN wrestled with a cash courier and tried to snatch the box he was taking into a bank.
The attempted robbery happened outside a Natwest Bank in South Street, Worthing,
at about 2.30pm on Thursday (December 1).
The assailant was unsuccessful in his cash bid and made off on foot empty-handed via an alley opposite the bank.
Police are appealing for witnesses. The man is described as white, about 30-40 years old, 5ft 11in, of average build, wearing a blue jacket with the hood up and possibly with a hat under the hood.
Detective Sergeant Colin O'Hare said: "This incident happened in the afternoon in a busy town centre location and there were many people around who would have seen something."
