TWO drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision in the A272 Station Road near Cowfold on Friday.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the junction with Thornden at around 1.20pm after a silver Vauxhall Vivaro travelling east collided with a red Renault Megane heading in the opposite direction.
Both the drivers, a 50-year-old man from Essex and a 41-year-old man from Hertfordshire, were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The 50-year-old man has been discharged. The road was closed until just after 5.30pm.
PC Ian Ravenhill, from the Sussex Police roads policing uni,t said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who saw what happened immediately before or just after the collision. The road was closed for nearly five hours and I appreciate this will have caused significant disruption for some motorists. If you were caught up in any jams then I would like to thank you for your patience."
