A BIDDING war is already breaking out ahead of the Snowdog auction tonight.
Offers began flooding in yesterday with commissioned bids being placed in person and online for some of the dogs. Bow Wow – the David Bowie themed dog – has emerged early as leader of the pack, attracting more than £5,000 in bids. It is expected to be one of the most popular with collectors.
Prices are rising for other dogs including Gizmo, Disco Dog, Dave the Dog, Rose, Blot the Dog, Brighton Belle, Roodle and Bella.
Hundreds of thousands of pounds is expected to be raised for The Martlets tonight at the Snowdog auction.
Celebrity auctioneer Tim Wonnacott will lead the models under the hammer from 7pm at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
The Martlets believes successful bids will be in excess of £4,000, but there is no reserve. Starting prices online are £1,000. Prices could be significantly higher for some of the designs - particularly those with links to celebrities.
