Police are appealing for witnesses after a man had his £15,000 Rolex snatched off his wrist by two men wearing balaclavas.

The victim, a 65-year-old local man, was at home in Lake Lane, Barnham, near Bognor Regis, when he answered the front door bell to two men at 5pm on Saturday.

One of the men immediately grabbed the victim's wrist and pulled him outside, where a struggle ensued, before the watch strap broke and the offenders made off on foot with the gold rolex, believed to be worth £15,000.

Police described one suspect as black, 5'10" and of slim build, wearing a balaclava with eye and mouth hole and a dark grey jacket. The second man has been described as being slightly shorter, stocky and  wearing a balaclava.

Detective Constable Ali Hutchings said: "The men were threatening and violent towards the victim causing him minor injuries and stealing his high value watch.

"It is described as a gold Rolex Oyster Day-Date with a gold face but no numbers or Roman numerals.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed something suspicious on late Saturday afternoon or in the days prior to the robbery."
