Two people have gone to hospital after a serious crash this morning which has closed a main road.
The A26 Beacon Road is shut with queueing traffic due to the accident at the junction of Mill Lane in Crowborough.
A police spokesman said: "Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to the scene of a serious collision between a car and a lorry in Mill Lane, Crowborough, at 9.23am on Thursday (December 8).
"Both drivers have been taken to hospital. The A26 at the junction of Church Road and the High Street at Crowborough Cross is closed and is likely to be for a few hours."
A fire service spokeswoman added: "We were called at 9.28am to reports of a road traffic collision involving one LGV and a private vehicle.
"One person was released from the vehicle using hydraulic cutting gear.
"Prior to our arrival one other person was released from the vehicle."
Crews from Crowborough and Uckfield attended and spent about an hour and a half on scene.
