A CHRISTMAS grotto was the star attraction at a seasonal show this weekend.

The Christmas in Rustington event kicked off on Saturday when Alison Cooper, chairman of the parish council, officially opened the grotto with the help of Santa, one of his elves, and some of the cast of the Sleeping Beauty pantomime cast being performed by the Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society.

There was music in the crisp winter air as visitors lined up to tell Santa that they had been nice - not naughty - and let him know which of this year's must-have toys they were hoping to see under the tree.

Elsewhere at the show a craft workshop in the Methodist Church helped festival goers create Christmas stars and tree decorations.

And pupils from years three to six at Rustington Community Primary School were led by Mr Burrows in a concert of carols and festive music.
