The Goldstone Days…20 Years On! is taking place at the Theatre Royal in Brighton on Monday February 20 and Seagulls supporters have already started snapping up tickets.

A SPECIAL evening is being staged to commemorate 20 years since Brighton and Hove Albion FC left the Goldstone ground.

A host of former players and managers have said they will appear on stage at the event to remember good times at the old ground, before Albion moved on in 1997.

They will include Alan Mullery, Peter Ward, Ian Mellor, Garry Nelson, Gordon Smith, John Byrne, Gary O’Reilly and Robbie Reinelt.

Landmark moments in the club's history will be covered in the two-hour theatre spectacular, featuring action clips and interviews with Albion names from down the years, either live on stage or on film.

There will also be a series of comedy sketches based around the club’s various achievements.

The stars of days gone by will include the likes of Brian Horton, Gary Williams, Andy Rollings, Graham Moseley, Chris Ramsey, Gary Chivers, Kerry Mayo, George Parris, Eric Steele and Paul Clark.

The Goldstone Days…20 Years On! is being organised by former Albion defender Guy Butters and football commentator and Seagulls fan Peter Brackley.

Peter Brackley said he hoped as many Albion fans as possible would attend.

He said: "The evening will be a lot of fun,. We will have live interviews with many of the big names from Brighton’s time at the Goldstone as well as live comedy sketches and video clips.

"There will be players from a range of different eras in attendance - the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s – and we will celebrate all the major landmarks in the club’s time at the Goldstone.

"It promises to be a fantastic evening and it will be great to see supporters and players from across the generations coming together."

Other big names, including Mark Lawrenson and Liam Brady, have said they will attend if their work commitments allow.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the club’s official charity, Albion in the Community, and help fund disability football sessions across Sussex.
