A MAN has been robbed at knifepoint as he walked home.

The victim was walking along the southern end of Upper Rock Gardens, Brighton, near St Mary's Church when he was threatened by a man with a knife.

The robber demanded cash, his mobile phone and bank card.

The victim handed over cash before pushing the robber and running away.

It happened at around 3am on Wednesday (January 11).

Detective constable Aaron Halsey, of Sussex Police, said: "Thankfully the victim was not injured during this frightening attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

"Despite officers carrying out an extensive search of the area the suspect was not located and police are now asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something to get in touch. "

The suspect is white, approximately 25-years-old and of skinny build. He was wearing black trousers, a dark coloured hoody and a black baseball cap.
