A WOMAN from Brighton has woken up to thousands of tweets after being mistakenly tagged in a post by Donald Trump.
Ivanka Majic, from Hanover, was mentioned in a post by the president elect who had hoped to mention his daughter who shares Mrs Majic’s first name.
Instead of tagging @IvankaTrump, Mr Trump tagged @Ivanka.
The 42-year-old said: "I couldn't quite believe it.
"I had to switch my Twitter notifications off because it was all a bit too noisy.
"Now my followers have gone up dramatically from 2,300 to 5,800."
Mrs Majic said her Twitter handle is often mistaken for Ivanka Trump, but never before has she been tweeted by Mr Trump.
"Over the last few years it often happens people send me a tweet they intend for Ivanka Trump, but today was above and beyond anything previously seen," she said.
The freelance digital consultant for the Brighton Restaurant Awards Vote Online (BRAVOs) has since spent her day taking calls from media around the world.
She added: "I've been contacted by news media in America and spoke to BBC Radio 4. So it's been an unexpectedly exciting day and very surreal."
@realDonaldTrump @drgoodspine And you're a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange. pic.twitter.com/kBMEGZYtig
