A PEDESTRIAN has been left seriously injured after being knocked down by a car.
Police and paramedics were called to Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, at 10.08am.
A 69-year-old woman was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, by air ambulance having suffered a significant head injury after being knocked down.
She remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the blue Vauxhall Zafira, a 46-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Sergeant Dan Pitcher of the Sussex Police Roads Policing Unit said: "We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened to get in touch."
